Background
The City of Troy collects the Hotel Motel (Transient Occupancy) Tax which was enacted by City Council (Ord. 27-88. Passed 6-6-88). This is now Chapter 703 of the Codified Ordinance. Each transient guest shall be levied a tax of three percent (3%) on all rents received by a hotel or motel for lodging furnished to transient guests.
Remittance
The Hotel Motel (Transient Occupancy) Tax is remitted to the City monthly by each hotel or motel with a copy of the form which can be found here.
