This is not the first year in which the City of Troy has received an award. For the last 20 consecutive years Troy has received the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association. That's a remarkable record for which the city and the citizens of Troy can be proud.
It is important to note that this award is only given to a very select group. There are 5,600 government entities in Ohio which are audited by the Auditor of State. Fewer than 5% of the agencies audited receive the Ohio Auditor of State Award with Distinction.
To receive the award an entity must accomplish the following:
Complete and submit a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) within 6 months of the end of the fiscal year audited
Have a "clean" audit with no findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, single audit findings, or questioned costs
Have no other financial concerns
A Department Award
The award is for all Troy employees who work hard each day to achieve accounting excellence.
