Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance

ADA Transition Plan
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a civil right law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of disability.  In compliance with Title II of the ADA, which pertains to the programs, activities and services provided by public entities, the City of Troy has conducted a self-evaluation of its services, programs, activities and facilities on public property and within public rights-of-way. This Transition Plan details the methods to be used to ensure compliance with ADA accessibility requirements.

The City has established an ADA grievance procedure, which may be used by anyone who wishes to file a complaint alleging discrimination on the basis of disability in the provisions of services, activities, programs, or benefits by the City of Troy. If you have a complaint regarding discrimination on the basis of disability, please submit your complaint in writing or via email to the ADA Title II Coordinator listed below within 60 days after the alleged ADA violation. The Coordinator or a designee will respond within 30 calendar days. An appeals process is available if the complainant believes the issue is not satisfactorily resolved.

The City will generally, upon request, provide appropriate aids and services leading to effective communication for people with disabilities so that they can participate equally in City programs, services, and activities.
