West Main Updates - 11/7/2022

We hope everyone is enjoying this warm fall seasonal weather and didn't forget to turn your clocks back over the weekend! The Troy W Main St Phase 1 construction project keeps moving right along.

The new storm sewer installation work between Elm St and Madison St, directly in front of Kettering Hospital, has concluded. Some relics from the buried bridge structure were salvaged and will be displayed at a yet to be determined location in the future. The new storm sewer operations will continue to move East. This work will cause a short road closure of Adams St, beginning Tuesday November 8th. Adams St will re-open Friday November 11th. The new storm sewer system will eventually extend to Cherry St.

Construction of the new concrete curb and gutter has been completed between Elm St and Madison St. Curb and gutter is soon to be completed between Madison St and Ridge Ave, then to the section between Elm St and Adams St. Construction of the new concrete sidewalks and driveways will follow the curb. This will be the first good visual of how the new Main St will look.

Concrete foundations for the new traffic signal poles and light poles are being placed throughout the construction zone. Hundreds of feet of buried electrical conduits will power the new traffic signals and lights in the future.

In general construction activities will normally slow down as the temperature begins to drop. However, so far this fall the weather has been very conducive to construction operations. Double Jay Construction will continue with their full operations until weather conditions do not permit so.

As always, thank you for your patience and understanding. For more information, please visit www.TroyOhio.gov/WestMain or submit your question via email to: MainStImprovements@primeeng.com
