Upcoming Road Closures
On Monday, April 10th, Double Jay will be closing Plum Street south of West Main Street to install storm sewer. Crews will then begin curb removal and the remainder of storm pipe installation connecting the structures previously placed. The travel lanes will continue to shift to perform this work—thanks for your patience!
From Monday, April 24th, to approximately Friday, April 28th, the intersection of W. Main Street and Elm Street will be closed extensive storm sewer work. This area is where water from the new storm sewers empties into an existing storm sewer on Elm Street and flows north. Truck traffic will be detoured per ODOT guidelines, and local traffic will have access up to the intersection. Lanes will be open as soon as possible.

Construction Updates
West Main Phase 1:
Construction is continuing to move along and is a bit ahead of schedule. Concrete crews continue to excavate, re-form, and pour concrete curb and gutter, driveways, and sidewalks between Ridge Avenue and Cedar Street on the south side of W Main Street.
Pipe crews have also been working on the south side of W. Main Street. They have been focusing on the area between Monroe Street and Plum Street this past week to have less impact on traffic. The process involves removing the old storm pipe and replacing it with an increased-size new pipe.
The basement wall at 107 W. Main Street (under the sidewalk) is scheduled to be completed by Tuesday, April 11th. The wall will need to cure for 7-10 days before the area beneath the sidewalk can be filled.
Utility Duct Bank Project:
The Utility duct crew west of Ridge Avenue has completed the eight (8) utility crossings on W Main Street. They will be working on restoring any concrete areas and seeding and mulching residential yards in the coming weeks.
