This week, crews have saw-cut the roadway and excavated the Boulevard area between Adams and Elm Streets. Motorists have adapted to the one lane of traffic in each direction in front of Kettering North Hospital fairly well, but there have had to be some modifications made to the signal at West Main and Adams until all final lanes of travel are available. There have been some sightings drivers performing of U-turns at Adams and a few motorists that have turned into eastbound Main St to use the north entrance to Tim Horton’s. These are both unsafe and illegal movements, so please be aware of this.
New light poles are starting to go up and are lit! There are still more to come and those will be installed as they arrive.
Power was activated for the new Elm Street traffic signals on Thursday. Please use caution with new signals, as they may operate a bit differently than the old signals. The traffic signal timings were modified late Friday to assist with traffic movement through this intersection. The last traffic signal to be updated, at Plum Street, is scheduled for installation in November.
Plum Street will be closed to through traffic beginning Tuesday through Friday, as crosswalk renovation will be completed next week. Parking will be available before the intersection. As always, we thank you for your patience and understanding!
