The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has advised that their contractor will begin the paving project in Troy during the week of June 9th. This is weather dependent based upon the completion of their other work in the County.
The paving project in Troy includes paving of the Square & Market Street from Nashville to just west of Barnhart (roughly where the 4 lane road starts.) The paving downtown is Main St. between Cherry and Walnut and Market St. between Franklin and Staunton Road. In order to minimize traffic concerns all of the work in the downtown area will be completed at night between the hours of 7:00pm and 6:00am. The contractor will work on Sunday – Thursday nights. Beginning at 9:00pm each of those nights the downtown square including all quadrants will be completely closed to all traffic with no on-street parking allowed until 6:00am. Each morning the road will be reopened to traffic.
The contractor will begin with the milling operation that will take about a week to complete. This will be followed by the paving and finally the striping. In the interim until striping is complete there will only a temporary centerline marked. There will not be temporary parking lines or lane lines. We expect the milling and paving to take about 2 weeks.
