The Activate Troy Partnership (ATP) is a public-private partnership formed in 2017 to advise and direct efforts involving the continuous development and revitalization of Troy’s downtown and Great Miami Riverfront.
The purpose and the mission of the ATP include providing leadership, guidance, and comment to developers, property owners, businesses, government leadership, and the Troy community regarding the future direction of Troy, primarily but not exclusively involving the redevelopment of the Troy Downtown Riverfront area. The ATP may support the implementation of the recommendations of the “Troy Downtown Riverfront Strategic Development Study,” dated December 18, 2017, as well as other plans, studies, etc. necessary to ensure the future success of the City of Troy. Action items of the ATP may be in the form of advice and guidance; advocacy and influence; and, testimony, both written and oral, on potential legislation and policy decision-making. The ATP is also intended to shape the overall future direction of the City of Troy as a policy think tank, using all of the forms listed above.

- Troy Main Street (Executive Director)
- Troy Development Council (Chief Executive Officer)
- Troy Area Chamber of Commerce (Executive Director)
- Troy Community Works (Board President)
- City of Troy (Mayor, Director of Public Service and Safety, and one Council Member)
- The Troy Foundation (Executive Director)
- Troy City Schools (Superintendent)
- Miami County Board of Commissioners (Development Director)
- Up to two additional members, as appointed by the majority of the other ATP members
What is the Downtown Riverfront Initiative?
The Downtown Riverfront Initiative is a comprehensive study of Troy’s historic downtown and riverfront corridor. The study was commissioned by a group of private organizations, funders, the City of Troy and interested stakeholders who came together to form the Activate Troy Partnership.
The Study resulted from the 2015 America's Best Communities (ABC) competition in which Troy placed as a quarter-finalist. One of four key initiatives of the nomination called for a comprehensive plan to provide connectivity to downtown and the riverfront, physically and functionally. The objective is to create new amenities, attractions and economic opportunities to support the City in workforce attraction. In late 2016, the Partnership connected with the urban design and planning firm, MKSK, and their strategic partners, to lead the study and provide recommendations for the Downtown Riverfront Strategic Initiative.
This study was commissioned to help maintain and enhance the special character of the downtown and riverfront corridor, protect its sense of place, encourage investments and create a dynamic commercial and residential district that instills pride in all citizens.
