West Market Street will be widened between Kenton Way and the bridge over Peters Creek near the ODOT garage.
The roadway is currently two lanes and will be widened to three lanes, one lane in each direction with a center turn lane. A 10-foot-wide shared-use path will be installed along the north side of the road between Nashville Road and Peters Creek.
Sidewalks will be installed along the south side of the road, between Kenton Way and Peters Creek. These are the first two phases in a multi-phase plan to improve West Market Street into the downtown area.
Timeline:
- Design will be completed in 2026
- Construction will begin in 2027
