The Commission provides rules for retention and disposal of records for the City, and reviews applications for one-time disposal of obsolete records and schedules of records retention and disposition submitted by municipal offices.
Governing Law: The Records Commission was established by Ohio Revised Code 149.39.
Appointment:
Per the Ohio Revised Code, the Commission is made up of:
- The City's chief executive, or chief executive's appointed representative, as chairperson
- The City's chief fiscal officer
- The City's chief legal officer
- One citizen appointed by the chief executive

Meeting schedule: The Commission meets at least once every six months and/or as needed.
