Mayor Robin Oda and City Development staff attended a ribbon-cutting this morning for Komyo America, Co.'s new facility. The new warehouse is set to be built adjacently to the American Honda Motor Co. facility on Commerce Drive, between McKaig Avenue and S. Stanfield Road.
Mayor Oda said, “It was an honor to participate in the groundbreaking ceremonies this morning for the new Komyo warehouse facility. This warehouse will be a nearly 500,000-square-foot facility with 10,000 square feet of office space. Komyo is an OEM parts distributor for Honda, and is a subsidiary of Honda Logistics. Having this warehouse located here in Troy will provide much-needed support for the Honda supply chain. We are pleased to support their expansion here in our community.
It was a great honor to welcome Mr. Hiroshi Shimizu, President of Honda Logistics in Tokyo, to the City of Troy. We had previously met with Mr. Shimizu in Tokyo during our 2025 trade mission and also in 2023. We also welcomed Mr. Sammy Tom, American Honda Motor Co. Assistant VP & Division Head of Parts, Service & Technical Operations, from Torrance, California."
Guests also heard from Mr. Yasundo Ono, VP Parts Division/Parts, Service & Technical Operations at Troy's local American Honda Motor Co. affiliate, and Mr. Ty Parshall, Project Director for Pepper Construction based in Dublin, Ohio.
Said Mayor Oda, "Congratulations, Komyo, as you begin construction and continue offering employment opportunities to Troy residents and those from the surrounding area. We look forward to continuing our great business partnership with you!”
