[ARCHIVED] Notice of Public Meeting: Proposed West Main Street (SR 41) Corridor Phase 1 Improvements

Notice of Public Meeting:

Proposed West Main Street (SR 41) Corridor Phase 1 Improvements

PID 108662

The City of Troy will host a public meeting to present information and receive feedback from the public regarding a project to improve the West Main Street Corridor between Cherry Street and the I-75 northbound ramps. This project will occur in two phases; construction of Phase 1 between Cherry Street and Ridge Avenue will begin in 2022 and construction of Phase 2 from Ridge Avenue to the I-75 northbound ramps will begin in 2023.

The project includes widening the street; replacing sidewalk and curb and gutter; installing a tree/curb lawn; reconstructing traffic signals; replacing waterline, sanitary sewers and storm sewers as necessary; and improving safety by upgrading traffic control devices, enhancing on-street parking stalls, and implementing access management techniques. The project is needed because the corridor has been identified as a High Priority location by the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission and the Ohio Department of Transportation due to the number of crashes.

The public meeting will be held:

Thursday, February 20, 2020
6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Hobart Arena - Bravo Room
255 Adams Street
Troy, Ohio 45373

The meeting will begin with a brief presentation followed by an open house. The public may attend at any time during the open house to view exhibits and ask questions of the project team.  Representatives from the City, ODOT, and engineering consultants will be available to answer questions. Materials at the meeting will be available in English. Persons who require translation for other languages or who require special assistance or accommodations, please contact Jill Rhoades at (937) 339-2641 prior to February 13, 2020 so arrangements can be made.

Anyone interested in this project is encouraged to attend the open house. Comment forms will be available at the open house or comments can be submitted to Jill Rhoades, City Engineer, at jillian.rhoades@troyohio.gov or City of Troy Engineering Department, 100 South Market Street, Troy, Ohio 45373.  In order to proceed with the project in a timely manner, all comments must be submitted by March 20, 2020.

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated 06/06/2018, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
