Beginning this winter, CenterPoint Energy (formerly Vectren) will perform gas main upgrades in downtown Troy. Dates have been moved up from previous estimates, and construction is scheduled to begin on February 2. The project is slated for completion by early April.
To assist downtown residents and businesses in planning for parking disruptions, Ritter Construction, the contractor for the project, has provided the following tentative schedule. As crews move through each area, parking may be limited and sidewalk interruptions may occur.
The following parking closures will take place at the end of February:
Wednesday, 2/23: Partial closure in north-east quad.
Thursday, 2/24 & Friday 2/25: West side of S. Market St. closed to parking from the Square to Franklin Street.
Monday, 2/28: Partial closure of south-east quadrant. E. Main closed to parking from the Square to Walnut Street.
Tuesday, 3/1: Partial closure of south-east quadrant.
Wednesday, 3/2: Parking restrictions on the side of South Market Street from the square to Franklin Street.
The City is working closely with CenterPoint to limit disruption to downtown residents and businesses. A representative from Ritter Construction will continue to correspond with businesses and residents to provide more information.
