As the holidays approach, the City of Troy's Refuse division has a few reminders and announcements regarding trash and recycling pickup:
- Trash and recycling pickup will not be affected for Christmas Day or New Year's Day this year. No changes to the regular pickup schedule will occur.
- Residents may "exceed the bin" for trash pickup the week of December 26-30. Additional refuse must be placed out on the regular collection day, but placed a few feet from the cart so that it can be accessed. Items placed in cardboard boxes will not be collected.
- In cooperation with the Miami County Transfer Station and Recycling Center, the City of Troy will be collecting non-artificial Christmas trees after Christmas. Pickup will take place from December 27 to January 31. Please place your tree at the curb for collection. All decorations, lights, and stands must be removed, and the tree must be unbagged.
