Mayor Robin Oda is proud to announce that the America 250-Ohio Commission has officially designated the City of Troy as an America 250-Ohio Community, recognizing the city’s commitment to celebrating the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States. Troy is proud to be among the first 100 communities to receive this honor, facilitating a partnership between local leaders and the state commission team.
In June, the Troy City Council adopted a resolution endorsing the America 250-Ohio Commission and its mission to actively engage Ohioans through various projects and events that highlight the state’s rich history over the last 250 years. The America 250-Ohio initiative aims to designate at least 250 communities across the state by July 2026.
Over the next two years, the City of Troy plans to collaborate with local non-profits, agencies, schools, historical groups, and cultural organizations to organize a range of events and educational activities. These community programs will honor the contributions of Troy residents to our nation’s past, present, and future.
“We are very excited to be participating and planning for this very special celebration of our country's 250th birthday. The committee has already been meeting, and our residents should stay tuned for more announcements of celebrations, events and programs as we approach 2026,” said Mayor Robin Oda.
