City Water Treatment staff assisted Miami County Public Health in sampling water at the Troy Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center today after the center reported two cases of Legionnaires’ disease. The testing showed normal water quality and did not indicate that the water supplied from the City of Troy to the facility was the cause of legionella bacteria.
City staff will continue to assist Miami County Public Health officials as needed to determine potential infection sources at the facility.
Again, the City of Troy’s water is not the cause of this outbreak and customers can be assured that Troy's water is safe to drink.
